Dynamic and lively, Nadim Jamal, embodies the spirit of a rock band front-man to a tee. With Absolace, the Dubai-based progressive rock band – he has garnered a lot of critical acclaim for a sound that is both professional and creative. In addition to that, Nadim’s involvement with the music scene in the region has urged us to ask him to be one of our ‘creators without compromise’ series with Fujifilm.

Four piece progressive metal/rock outfit was formed in 2008. The band's attention to detail and originality resulted in deserved critical-acclaim. The release of their debut album 'Resolve[d]' saw them play many high-profile gigs locally and regionally - including, opening for pro-rock legends Anathema and Alt Rockers 30 Seconds to Mars. Nadim tells us about his start in music "It's just been something I've done since I was a teenager. Pretty much everyone in my family has a musical background and in school all my friends ended up playing some instrument or the other. So it was just the natural thing to do. Tried to pick up the guitar back in 7th grade but was way too impatient to get far with it. Then, I tried to sing so I could at least have something to do with my musician friends. It didn’t sound hideous so I kept on doing it…"
"Lots of very cool things – including a big announcement coming soon but I'm going to keep that hush for a few more days. We've just joined up with Hold Tight PR in the UK who specialize in promoting bands like us, we're currently signing a distribution contract with Spellbind and we are aiming to do some gigs in Europe and Asia starting summer of 2012. We have a new website being launched soon, music video coming out and a lot of other exciting things."
