Swedish popstar Robyn has been (successfully) making her unique brand of catchy tunes for years now.

This year she’s embarked on a more ambitious journey through planning to release a trilogy of records, starting with Body Talk Pt 1 (released only two months prior) which hit all the right notes with critics as well as with her fans.

On the second installment, the volume is cranked up and the energy doesn’t die down until the last bit of the album – which is more true to Robyn’s previous releases – but in comparison to the first installment; it pales, perhaps because there is an obvious lack of variety or because it’s less candid and much more polished.

That said, most of the tracks are dance-floor tailored (“Love Kills”,”Criminal Intent”) which will definitely appeal to her fanbase, while still progressing nicely from the last effort. But Robyn’s signature appeal is best exhibited through her more emotive, heartfelt tracks, such as on electro-tinged the single “Hang with Me”, or the more acoustic, beautiful ballad “Indestructible”.

The limited track-listing plays well to the strengths of this record – at eight tracks, the point of view is put across – albeit a bit preachy at some turns.
