Proving to be one of the most exciting electro acts in the region, Neobyrd gives us a bit of everything on his Naughty Boyz EP.

Opening with the lightly retro-tinged house-infused track “Like 80’s” and setting the bar high early on for this exhilarating EP, Neobyrd doesn’t stick to a certain style but ventures into creating different sounds and textures which invoke multiple moods – and that’s a good thing with the amount of same-y music forced on us these days.

There’s the Daft Punk-type thing, as heard on the title track 'Naughty Boyz', a cool electro track with robotic vocals, then there's the chilled-out house thing on the track 'Madly in June' (which would work perfectly as a summer single) and there’s the introspective yet youthful thing on the track 'Cinamon Girl' – a lovely song with an understated melancholy.

The treats keep coming with the edgier and more experimental 'Apollo 11' which is a track playing on its moods of suspense and tension; and then the complete commercial appeal of 'Colors in Love' – (previously reviewed as a single featuring RaSh Radio) – which is actually an entirely dreamy track sans the vocals on the original mix.

If I had to guess one of the things Neobyrd set out to do with this EP, it’s to prove his range as a songwriter/producer – and he’s succeeded, Naughty Boyz is worth a listen (or more) and I for one can’t wait to hear more.
