This weekend in Dubai, music and motorsport fans will have something to celebrate as the UAE Drift comes to Dubai Festival City (December 9 to 12) – providing an action-packed all ages weekend.
As the event organizers put it “UAE Drift is a round of Drift Allstars, a professional drifting series, matching daredevil skills, artistic interpretation, speed and control as competitors do battle in their cars” adding that “the fastest growing motorsport, drifting has become extremely popular within the context of extreme sports.”
Extreme it is – check out the video below for what it’s all about. Here’s a tip – watch out after the event on the roads for some inspired amateur drifting!
Joking aside, the weekend isn’t just about motorsport though, which is where triplew.me comes in, some of the finest hip hop and breakbeats this side of any motoring circuit (Yas Island included!) will be on show.
From UAE-based talent including Hamdan from Abri, The Recipe and Jibberish & Half Gully (from Diligent Thought) to some great international acts including UK dubstep, grime and rap masters Foreign Beggars and Egypt’s Arabian Knightz, this is going to be one to remember.
The action isn’t just confined to the stage or purpose built motorsport circuit either, with the Rage Extreme Zone providing one of the largest skate shows seen in the region. The Nike SB crew will be there providing highlights and great skating action all weekend. Be sure to check that out.
