Makshoof Music’s first winner, singer/songwriter Shady Ahmed from Cairo, will be introduced to the Dubai music scene in his first public gig in the UAE which will take place at the Music Room on Tuesday (January 18th).
This special performance comes as a part of a busy week for Shady and his band (as a part of his Makshoof Music prize) from recording to TV appearances.
Triplew.me is extremely pleased (and excited!) to help bring exposure to regional talent – and in the case of Shady Ahmed, you should expect a blend of acoustic pop-rock with a generous dash of ragged soul a la Jeff Buckley. A sound which is made personal by the songwriter’s intimate tales - although we are promised a more elevated, complex setting with the addition of a four-piece band which includes: Sherif Hawary (Guitar), Ahmed Bahaa (Percussion), Sherif Mostafa (Keyboards), Tamer Hashem (Drums), Adel Imam (Saxophone), Jimmy Shokair (Bass).
