Time again for a Makshoof Music interview, and this time it's Massive Scar Era's Sherine who gets the triplew.me question and answer session ahead of the final judging round.
Massive Scar Era have made quite an impact since their beginning, playing festivals in Sweden and the US as well as playing regularly in their native Egypt. As one of the entrants in Makshoof Music, we decided to catch up with lead singer Sherine about the band, what's next and what they think of online.
Check out Massive Scar Era's Makshoof Music submission and please feel free to leave a comment.
People in Sweden were very nice to us, and they interacted a lot with our music and even started to sing along with us in the second chorus of our song "The world is rising" and they requested from us to repeat some songs and their reaction when we left the stage was very chocking because they ran to the backstage area and they gave us good comments and some of them are still in touch with us through myspace. The festival was really well organized and the organizers were so welcoming and we are considering performing again in SwedenRock 2011
However in Egypt the crowd is way different, they interact more with the heaviness of the song regardless the lyrics but they understand the fact that it is hard for girls to play our music so they appreciate our effort
Good time on stage, mosh-pits, a lot of headbanging
Karma, Idlemind
We already recorded our first EP "Unfamiliar Territory" before performing in Cornerstone festival in USA (4 months ago) and we're searching for good studios and recording deals to record our first full length album
We already have new songs and we're currently working on more
Cairo has a bigger crowd, and appreciates rock music while in Alexandria they appreciate black and heavy metal more than rock; we didn't feel any difference between the 2 cities.
The MetalCore band Attack Attack, definitely.
I do not do any vocal warm ups before going on stage, although I know it is not preferable!
We think that the internet was very helpful because both major festivals that we performed at were found through the internet and they heard us through the internet as well!
