Do you know Gil Scott-Heron? He’s the guy who did the song ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Televised’…we all know that song, or at least title, from recent times. And now he’s got Jamie xx from The xx to create some remixes from his last album ‘I’m New Here’. Listen to a stream of the album here!

We’re New Here is a remix of the 2010 album I'm New Here by the classic American poet-musician-author, known for his politically motivated spoken-word performances in the 1970’s & 80's.

His release last year was his first album since 1994’s Spirits. I’m New Here was a critically acclaimed piece of work that saw him released on XL Recordings across the world.

Late in 2010, Jamie xx, he of The xx, took on the duties of transforming the I’m New Here sessions into something else, adding a healthy dose of his production work with The xx to the tracks, transforming them into the We’re New Here sessions below.
