Lazzy Lung - from Beirut, Lebanon

Lazzy Lung a once upon a time solo project now turned 4 piece rock outfit is floating about between Canadian and Lebanese Borders. It seems as though Lazzy Lung has settled down on the beachy shores of Beirut taking their chances with political instability and language barriers and an outrageous hotel bill.

The Band has just released their debut Album "Strange Places" in lebanon and soon to be available at a local shawarma place near you. The album tells a story of a journeying 20 something traveling overseas from one capital city to another leaving all that he knew and loved behind. The story unfolds as most do with with twists and turns and changes of heart, great distances tearing lovers apart. The city finally sings its song and new beginnings come along, a new home is found.

Playing Rock music in Lebanon is like wearing Cowboy boots to a beach party. We know its a challenge, we know it doesn't make sense, we know its full of Strange places.

When I first heard Lazzy Lung in December last year I was surprised by the maturity in the song-writing and the delivery on their record 'Strange Places'. Having now seen them live, these guys not only get their music, but understand the business, which is the crucial important first step. There's no doubt these guys are going places, and will continue to grow and deliver what I would consider live music gems.

My first experience with Lazzy Lung was a bit less than 2 years ago when I moved back from the gulf. Back then, I doubted Lebanon's live scene and believed that the best musicians are those who populate dimly lit pubs or dark corners in random smoke infested bedrooms, jamming to an audience of head nodders and silent fans.

The best musicians are still birthed in these rooms, and Lazzy Lung are no exception, but their fans, by the numbers, simply can not fit there anymore! Don't believe me? Wait until you joyfully repeat after them "Aye Aye Captian" in live harmony!

Fantastic band!
